2011 Morgan Aero 8 Super Sport – 1 of 33, 800 miles

I fell in love with this 2011 Morgan Aero 8 Supersport during the winter of 2012 while visiting a friend on the West Coast. This Ice Blue (it’s a Bentley color) car was on the showroom floor and the Blue and Grey interior was (and is – in my humble opinion) simply a striking combination. I made a half-hearted attempt to purchase this car then but that wasn’t enough and it sold to someone else.

Three years later, I was going to meet a good client of ours at his office. We were walking through the door to his shop (most would call it a “collection”) and there was the Morgan! I was blown away by the sight of the car again. This spectacular Supersport is one of only 33 imported to the U.S. (Two of these have been totaled.) This example is the only one with rear exiting exhaust. The exhaust configuration is key: you get the grumble of the 4.8-liter BMW V8 without the blast of noise next to your ear when you drive. And it makes NOISE! The 360 horsepower V8 in a car weighing only 2600 pounds makes for exhilarating performance. The seating position, the car’s bodylines, and Morgan’s fit and finish gives you a feeling like no other car on the road. The BMW drive train provides bulletproof reliability.
