Developed in Weissach-Flacht and built from the lessons learned from Porsche’s legendary Motorsport division, the RS models are the most track-ready 911s available to the general public. The 991.1 GT3 RS proved to be no exception, building upon the legacy of its predecessors albeit with a long list of changes. Beginning with the body of the 991 Turbo, a 4.0-liter flat-six with 500 horsepower and a screaming redline of 8880 rpm was paired to the brilliant PDK dual-clutch gearbox. The wide arches allowed for a wheel and tire package that matched the dimensions of those used on the 918 Spyder, with 265/35/20s up front and 325/30/21s in back. A more aggressive aero package was fitted, providing tons of downforce through the large rear wing, front splitter, and functional fender vents. The 991.1 was the first generation RS to receive rear-wheel steering. As a whole, the 991.1 GT3 RS turned in more tenaciously and had more grip than any other 911 before it. The PDK gearbox made the chase for faster lap times even more accessible.
This GT Silver example shows a mere 871 miles on the odometer and features a long list of options specified by the original purchaser. The original owner specified Satin Black wheels and the optional Black headlight housings with PDLS to match. The massive Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) package provides both tremendous braking power as well as superior resistance to brake fade and wear. The front axle-lift is another useful option, making entry and exit of steep driveways without scraping an easy task.
The interior features the fixed carbon-fiber buckets with electric adjustments. Extensive Custom Tailoring options from the special wishes department were selected to offset the Black leather and Alcantara. Red was the chosen highlight color and is featured through the deviated stitching on the dashboard, door panels, side and rear panels, steering wheel, armrest, and the embroidery on the headrest. Guards Red instrument dials were selected, including the dial for the Sport Chrono clock and matching Guards Red seat belts. The Sound Package Plus option integrates an amplifier into the PCM for a total output of 150 watts through the eight-speaker audio system.
The GT3 RS is already a proven performer, and with the addition of a few track-focused options makes this example the ideal track toy for any enthusiast seeking the best performance available without stepping up to a designated track car.
