472 optioned touring example - All Original

This matching numbers 1973 RS is a dream find for any collector, because it’s one of only a few untouched original cars we’ve ever seen!  Porsche delivered the car, originally equipped, with limited slip differential, sports seats, headrests, retractable seat belts, and electric aerial.

The car has all books including the RS supplement, original Blaupunkt radio guarantee and instruction book (radio still fitted), and even tire compressor guarantee and instruction manual. The Porsche dealer network book, and a typed letter explaining the heater operation from Porsche are included (and very rare). All of the books are in their correct burgundy wallets and the instruction manual still is in its plastic original dealer wallet.

In fact only the hood has been repainted, and it’s perfect match. Paint is original, measuring from 70 -100 microns all over. The car possesses amazing originality; it’s unique in condition by any standard.

There are some mind-blowing details correct and intact that make this a priceless reference car. Some of these items I have only seen in period photos: plastic pop rivets on tread plates; tack welds on wing ends; alloy arch trim and screws; rear engine lid construction and stickers; carpets; seals; nuts bolts screws; wiring; clips; sealant glue; trim; etc. This car is not just original, but untouched; it’s never been taken apart since new!

The odometer reads 130,000 kilometers (81,000 miles). It’s Tangerine, and the original Recaro seats, all tools and books (including the stamped service book) come with the car.  Originally delivered into Switzerland, the first owner maintained the car through the supplying dealer until 1985. It was brought to the UK in 1989. The car remained in the UK until a few years ago when we purchased and imported this special car. It’s very original and something like this rarely is seen in the wild!

As the collector from whom we purchased it from in the UK said, “Non-repeatable, original unrestored, non-accident, never welded car.”
