Built in February of 1977, Porsche 911 Turbo Carrera, chassis #9307800440 is a numbers-matching example that was ordered with US Equipment, Electric Sunroof, Pirelli Tires and stickered for $29,210.
This being 1 of 717 Turbos built for the US market in 1977, it was purchased from Tom Moser of Porsche Audi in Cincinnati, Ohio, on 5/10/77 by Sloan Kritser. Sloan Kritser, from Amarillo, Texas, drove home his new Turbo Carrera, putting 1,110 miles before its first service on 5/13/77. You have to love someone who immediately services his new Turbo after its maiden 1,000-mile road trip. It remained in his care until 5/17/87, when it was sold to Richard Ellis of Galesburg, Illinois, with 6,700 miles and remained in his private collection. On 5/5/05, the Turbo Carrera, now with 9,424 miles on the odometer, was purchased by Richard Bieser and brought back to Cincinnati where it had begun its journey in 1977. At that time, Richard Bieser proceeded to have the engine pulled out, top-end disassembly, updated head studs, hydraulic tensioners, clutch, pressure plate, and all Porsche recommended updates. All the work was performed by a factory-trained certified Porsche mechanic.
In September of 2005, it was shown at the Ohio Valley Porsche Club of America Concours, where it took Best of Show. It added to its trophy case at the Ault Park Concours d’Elegance in 2007 and 2013, taking the Award of Distinction both years. Eleven years after being an excellent caretaker, Richard Bieser decided to sell the Silver Metallic Turbo Carrera to Daniel Katz through Sloan Cars in Hamden, Connecticut, in 2016. Daniel Katz lovingly cared for the Turbo Carrera with significant mechanical service. He drove it 354 miles during his stewardship, before ultimately deciding to sell to the last owner in September of 2021. The Turbo Carrera was recently comprehensively serviced to the tune of $5,000 and is ready for its next caretaker. With five documented owners from new, this original, non-intercooled Turbo, represents the last year of the 3.0-liter engine in the iconic German colors of Silver Metallic over black leather. Featuring its original books, records, and window sticker, this is an amazing opportunity to own an iconic 930.
