This 2013 Boxster “S” was a “whim” car for one of our great clients. As the discussion went, a convertible would be fun and “I can drive it everyday,” unlike most of his other special Porsches. We searched and found this Riviera Blue “S” at a dealer in Oregon. Upon delivery our client thought the Boxster had too much black plastic trim around the side scoops and rear exhaust, so that needed to be alleviated. The “S” was taken to the dealer, all the black trim and inner duct work removed, sent out for painting and prep so his daily driver would have the proper look. This cost a small fortune, but who are we to say no? Halfway through the work, we noticed he was correct. It totally changed the look of the car. The Porsche had an MSRP of over $90,000 and we spent a small fortune on painting the trim. The labor cost to properly remove and re-install was even more staggeringly expensive but the result makes all the difference in the world. Now it’s absolute perfection! While all the trim was off and the car was on the lift, the brake calipers were removed and redone in orange and re-lettered “Porsche” just for the extra pop it needed.
The original purpose was to drive this car – and he did – for about 10 weeks. Then he moved on to his next automotive idea which I can tell you about another time. This 2013 Boxster has covered almost 2,500 miles, with the last few hundred put on while maintaining it. It’s a great car, a fantastic looking and a truly one-of-a-kind Boxster “S” that has had the most pampered, one owner life imaginable. They just don’t get better than this, folks!
