When Andy Preuninger and the clever folks in Motorsports conjured up this GT4, they ticked all the right boxes! With a big sticker price north of $110K, there was no thought to save money; in fact their only thoughts were to create a beautiful, powerful, sleek, and mean-looking GT Porsche.
Wearing it’s unblemished Agate Grey metallic finish and an interior perfectly in harmony, this GT4 is as good of an example you will come across. Loaded with all the right goodies of seats, brakes, carbon, stitching, fuel tank, Sport-Chrono-Plus, et cetera, the entire feel and flow of this GT4 is just right. Going a step further, the front end was wrapped to protect the investment; and there’s the subtle touch of replacing the amber front markers with clear (the amber lenses accompany the car) and these lend well to all the sinister black touches and blend perfectly into the color.
At this point we’re not sold on the new GT4, primarily because we all know by now how wonderfully constructed these first examples are. For the money, they are one of Porsche’s finest builds yet. Whether you’re pulling into your favorite track, driving your favorite neighborhood, or flat out getting lost … the GT4 is an incredibly responsive machine to maneuver throughout it’s entire power band and its broad capabilities. There is usable power wherever you go on the tachometer. It’s a very thrilling Porsche.
And by the way, we’re not sure the added horsepower of these next generation examples will marry well with their heavier chassis. Questions—and analogies— come to mind, but let’s leave it at … this is a killer Cayman GT4.
