It’s difficult to believe that the 991.2 model was released eight years ago and it’s even more difficult to wrap your head around Porsche’s new pricing across the 992.2 model lineup. It’s amazing how well the 991 model has aged aesthetically and what a value proposition it offers for the Porsche faithful looking to enjoy their 911.
The facelifted 991.2 came out with much fanfare in 2016. This 911 being an all-wheel-drive C4S, that means 420 hp at 6500rpm, and a broad torque plateau of 368 lb-ft from 1700-5000 rpm. Having recently driven this C4S, one forgets that a car can be fast, engaging, and most importantly, comfortable.
Porsche claimed that the 3.0 flat-six offered a performance of 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds, if launch control is used in a PDK car. Well, here is the thing, this C4S Cabriolet is a SEVEN SPEED MANUAL and offers the perfect blend of modernity with analog participation.
In a time when the sticker price of a non-optioned Carrera 4S would hover around $110,300, this Carrera 4S Cabriolet was loaded to the max with a sticker of $162,720 and wisely optioned with a manual.
The options list is impressive. Painted in GT Silver Metallic paint, the interior was ordered in full black leather. The two key important option packages include the Premium Package Plus and Sport Package.
These two bundled packages included sensible and desirable features for driving fast while being comfortable. These options included: LED headlights, Dynamic Light System Plus, Seat Heating, Seat Ventilation, Light Design Package, Auto-Dimming Mirrors, and Entry Lamp. Meanwhile, the sport package bundle offered Sport Design Exterior Mirrors, Rear Axle Steering, Sport Chrono, Sport Exhaust, and the very sexy GT Sport Steering Wheel.
We also love the 20’ RS Spyder Design wheels that were optioned in combination with Ceramic brakes. Rounding out the spec with the 14-way Sport Seats, Burmester Surround Sound System and rear model designation painted body color, for a lowkey flex of model camouflage.
With too many other options to list in a write-up, this C4S stands out and has been recently serviced by our shop with just 16,000 miles on the odometer. This C4S Cabriolet is a superhero because it offers the experience of being completely engaging to drive and dare I say, practical. It offers a driving experience that leaves you with the thought, “It’s good to be alive.”
