Almost immediately after taking an unexpected First in Class award at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este with the Ingram Collection 1961 356B Carrera Abarth GTL chassis 1008 and becoming one of two restoration companies to have achieved the “Triple Crown” in the Concours world, we embarked on our first ever driving event with six early aluminum competition cars and covering over 700kms through some of the best road and mountain passes in the world.
Three 356B Carrera Abarth GTLs, one 550 Spyder, one 550A, and one 718 RSK all took to the roads between Northern Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Germany facing a range of conditions- from traffic and impossibly narrow streets to long stretches of open highway to incredibly technical switchbacks and fast, twisting mountain passes. Bouts of rain and sleet didn’t hamper our drivers’ or team’s spirits- in hindsight, they only added to the experience.
The trip concluded in Stuttgart at the Porsche Museum where the cars from the trip were displayed at the entrance for the afternoon. Our clients and team were treated to a private tour of the Porsche Museum, through the factory and assembly lines, and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in the original Werk 1 building.
